Jusoor International is participating in the 12th edition of Geneva Peace Week, taking place from October 13 to 17, organized in partnership with the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform, the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, and the United Nations Office at Geneva. This participation reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its international engagement and contributing to global efforts that foster a culture of peace, as well as supporting initiatives aimed at achieving it.
Jusoor International seeks to advance the objectives of Geneva Peace Week — a leading global forum and platform for peacebuilding — by engaging in discussions that address challenges and opportunities, and by contributing to the development of future strategies to confront complex and interconnected crises. These include climate change, funding shortages, technological disruptions, and escalating geopolitical tensions.
By joining a distinguished group of global organizations dedicated to peace efforts, Jusoor International underscores the importance of collaboration in shaping meaningful discussions and actionable recommendations that can strengthen global peacebuilding pathways. The outcomes of the event are expected to provide valuable insights and solutions to urgent issues, promoting dialogue, understanding, and a sustainable culture of peace.
This participation comes within the framework of Jusoor International’s broader mission to expand cooperation with institutions and organizations that share similar goals and visions, fostering joint action and developing innovative, sustainable solutions that advance peace and development around the world.
This year’s Geneva Peace Week was held under the theme “Peace in Action.” The program features dynamic sessions, participatory workshops, interactive exchanges, and artistic performances focused on a range of key issues, including armed conflict, civilian protection, humanitarian work, arts and culture for social change, youth and child empowerment, peace and security, trust and mediation, data-driven decision-making and accountability.
Discussions explored topics such as education for peace, effective and accountable institutions, inclusion, environment and climate, peace and food security, future peacebuilding missions and operations, gender equality, minority rights and intersecting identities, human rights, social justice, inclusion, human security, disarmament, the role of local actors and communities, mental health, storytelling for peace, as well as emerging technologies, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
The Geneva Peace Week Forum is recognized as a leading annual event in the global peacebuilding calendar, bringing together organizations based in Geneva and international partners to share knowledge and experiences across disciplines and contexts. It provides an invaluable opportunity to connect, highlight, and amplify the work of peacebuilders, broadening access for individuals and institutions dedicated to promoting peace and resolving conflicts — acknowledging that peacebuilding happens in multiple contexts and across all sectors.
